Fundamental changes.
Health update!
In this update a large change has been made to the fundamental functioning of the game. In previous versions the player started with 3 lives which were lost when an enemy touched the player and not effected by enemies reaching the bottom of the screen. However, this made the game trivial and therefore, to add challenge this system has been adjusted.
Now, instead of having three lives, players have 100 hp displayed by a health bar where the lives used to be. This bar depletes when an enemy touches the player and like before if this bar reaches 0hp the game is over and the player 'dies'. However, the main change that comes from this new feature is the fact that the player will now lose health when enemies reach the bottom of the screen. As the game progresses each new enemy will have slightly higher damage values meaning the game gets tougher as you go on.
This has been done to increase difficulty, create a more engaging game as players will now have to trade off losing a little health to a lot of small enemies vs larger ones taking larger amounts of hp, and add a bit of excitement of course.
It's my hope that this makes Shapes In Space a more entertaining and fun game for all who play it. Thanks to all who are supporting the project. Keep your eyes peeled for the next major update, the "Cosmetic Update"....
